Psychedelic-Assisted Therapies

Ketamine-Assisted Therapy

Ketamine-Assisted Therapy (KAT) is a specialized therapeutic approach that combines the use of a psycholytic (sub-psychedelic) dose of ketamine with intentional, integrative psychotherapy. At this dose, ketamine gently shifts perception and softens habitual patterns of thinking and emotional defense, while allowing individuals to remain present, aware, and engaged in the therapeutic process.

This approach uniquely weaves together attachment-based, emotion-focused, and body-oriented (somatic) therapies. Clients are supported in exploring their inner experience— emotions, sensations, and relational patterns—in a way that feels both grounded and expansive.

Sessions are conducted individually with two therapists, offering a deeply supported relational field. This dual-therapist model allows for attuned, responsive care that can track both emotional and somatic processes in real time.

In addition to the therapeutic team, a medical team is involved to assess each person’s suitability for treatment, monitor for any contraindications, and ensure that the process is safe and appropriate.

Psilocybin & MDMA-Assisted Therapy

I support clients who are seeking access to psilocybin-assisted therapy or MDMA-assisted therapy through Health Canada’s Special Access Program (SAP). This pathway allows certain individuals to apply for these emerging treatments when other approaches have not been effective or appropriate.

To date, approvals have most commonly been granted for individuals experiencing end-of-life distress related to terminal illness, treatment-resistant depression and/or major depressive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder.

Accessing these therapies through the SAP requires the involvement of a licensed prescriber who is willing to support and submit the application. The process can take several months and approval is not guaranteed. I offer guidance and support throughout this process, helping clients understand their options, prepare for next steps, and integrate this work into their broader therapeutic journey.

Healing, then, is not about fixing what is broken.

It is about creating the conditions where what is already wise and whole within us can emerge.
